Meet the staff at Allegan County Chiropractic. We love our jobs and it shows.
Dr. Kathryn Hafer D.C., CPE

I’ve lived and worked the Chiropractic lifestyle and philosophy for the last 35 years. I graduated from WMU and then went on to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
Long term Chiropractic relationships have been formed working in SW Michigan for many years. My patients are part of my family, their joys and sorrows are felt in the office.
While I was at WMU I was involved in designing recreational programs and therapy for people with disabilities. That interest led me to incorporate cranial adjusting and use of a low force adjusting instrument called the “activator” into my toolbox of techniques to use to help people reach their health potentials.
These techniques of care as well as traditional Chiropractic methods have been useful with individuals experiencing chronic headaches, concussions, sleep disorders, as well as developmental delays in children, and ADHD, to name a few.
I know my patients come in with specific issues, usually back pain, neck pain, or headaches. As a woman chiropractor, my adjustment techniques may be different than other chiropractors in the Allegan area. My goal is to get you on the path to a healthy, happy, and active life path. Many patients stay on for wellness care, just like they go to the dentist or get a yearly physical. Prevention is so much better than undoing pain.
In my spare time I enjoy being outdoors, playing with Sedona. I’m also into antique cars, movies, and vacations in warm destinations.

Jackie Smith

I’ve been the Chiropractic Assistant at Allegan County Chiropractic since 2011. I make sure the clinic runs as smoothly as possible, wearing many hats.
I answer the phone, answer your billing questions (or find the answers), and interact with insurance companies. You’ll always see a smile on my face, and I love word puns, so bring one with you next time you’re in.
We’ve got this awesome kid cave for your kids, and we like the laughter kids bring into the office. I spend time answering your kids’ “why” questions and introducing them to Sedona, our office greeter.
When not working at ACCHC I spend time on my homestead working at whatever the season demands: winter – hauling and splitting wood for the wood stove and reading; summer – gardening, preserving food for winter, and enjoying the beauty of nature in all seasons. I’m also a writer, so spend lots of free time at my computer.

Sedona

Our Therapy Dog
Sedona has been with Dr. Hafer for over 12 years. During the Covid shutdown, she stayed home but now she’s back again. Like all seniors, she’s had her share of “ailments” including glaucoma and skin tags.
She was blind in one of her pale blue eyes so it had to be removed. It hasn’t slowed her down one little bit. She’s now our “pirate dog.” We’ve tried putting a patch on her eye for Halloween, you probably know how that turned out.
Kids are Some of Her Favorite People
She loves to play with kids and can handle any kind of “petting” your child will give her. We’ve had great success with Sedona bringing shyness out of kids and even brought an Autism Spectrum child out of his shell.
Sedona is a Part of Your Chiropractic Experience
We are aware that our patients come for the Chiropractic Care and stay for Sedona’s unconditional loving. She is a part of the whole Chiropractic experience at Allegan County Chiropractic. She may make you come to her – increasing your movement and range of motion.
Sedona even has her favorite chair in the waiting room. She’ll let you know which one it is. She’s waiting to see You!

Come in and get some unconditional love from her. She greets every patient. Your loving is good, but she’s always curious about that new person who just walked in. No loyalty to any one person. She loves everyone.
By the way, we have a clothes brush if you come in wearing black. We use it ourselves all the time.
